Description
As the name suggests, this wine receives a short maceration in contact with the grape skins. This is an intentionally light touch, with the purpose of adding extra aromatic complexity to the wine. Frequent bâtonnage takes place during its three months on the lees. The result is a wonderfully textured and complex white with delicate floral notes like honeysuckle and jasmine, bolstered by yellow apple, pear and gooseberry. This is all tied together by an underlying minerality, giving the wine persistence and a refreshingly zippy finish. Closer in style to an Albariño of Rías Baixas than a traditional Vinho Verdes, this makes a great apéritif or the perfect pairing for seafood.Berry Bros. & Rudd
