Description
The 2020 Ripa Rosado, a blend of 70% Garnacha and 30% Tempranillo, comes from the first-bleed juice of fruit from two 30-year-old bush vines. 24 hours’ skin contact has imparted a salmon-pink colour to the wine, with a slight copper hue. It was aged for 30 months in French oak (a combination of 225L barrels and 500L demi-muids). The nose is savoury and complex, offering wild strawberries and dried citrus peel layered with amaro herbs, as well as a subtle saline edge. A gentle oxidative note adds further intrigue. The palate is poised and textural, combining lifted red berry fruit with hints of stone fruit and discreet oak spice. A fine thread of salinity carries through to a long, bright and finely tune finish. This is an incredibly gastronomic rosado wine of real character. It would pair beautifully with aromatic and spiced Asian dishes, or a well-seasoned paella, but its vibrant and saline character will be a treat on any summer table.Ferdinand Billard, Digital Trading Executive, Berry Bros. & Rudd (February 2026)
