Description
The Riesling Steinriegel comes from the northern side of the valley, where there is a lot more chalk, and the Steinriegel itself has a while silicate marble content, resulting in a texture you wouldn’t be surprised to find from Sancerre. While not technically a Federspiel this year, due to the stormy August and warm harvest, this is still incredibly fresh and straightforward. The nose has aromas of delicate stone fruit and freshly-squeezed lime, with hints of honeysuckle that carry through to the palate. Energetic and incredibly zippy, with flavours of green apple and river pebbles, this is a delight to drink now-2032. Katie Merry, Junior Buyer, Berry Bros. & Rudd (July 2024)
