Description
Montagny was one of the few areas of Burgundy that made a full crop in 2024. This vineyard, at the top of the slope, was untouched by mildew. Fifteen percent was made in tank, with the rest in barrels, with a small proportion of new oak. The nose is floral and discreet, with a chiselled, mineral feel. There’s a pleasing weight on the palate, with peach, pear and apple filling the middle. This is intersected perfectly by a tangy, zesty freshness that segues into a chalky, mineral finish, mouthwatering acids alternating with juicy fruit. This is a huge success from these 70-plus-year-old vines.Berry Bros. & Rudd (October 2025)
