Description
Acquired in 2017, this 207-hectare estate was the Symingtons’ first venture outside the Douro. Handpicked between August and October, the grapes are manually sorted and fermented with close monitoring; 75% of the blend then spends six months in seasoned French oak. A mix of local varieties, the wine shows red cherry, raspberry, blackberry and kirsch, layered with dried herbs, nutmeg and clove. Fresh acidity lifts the fruit, leading to a savoury, elegant finish. The most approachable wine from Fonte Souto, it’s crafted for youthful drinking.Berry Bros. & Rudd
